Lord of the Flies #4

I agree with the thought of Golding that the heart of darkness lies in all mankind.  The presence of rules in society regulates the instinct of natural darkness so that it can prevent us from being savage. Otherwise, the society of mankind would be fallen apart by the absence of rules.  Adolf Hitler proves to the world that human beings are capable of committing cruel injustices against each other through his dramatic and radical actions. He had felt none of guilt nor reflect for his behaviour. His thought which made the world in darkness was violence and the dictatorship were the only right way to control. The heart of darkness that is place inside of him led to the depression of all mankind. There was another man in North Korea who led the society in a fear. Jung-il kim was a leader of North Korea who always threatened the world by exploding nuclear weapons. All people in the world opposed, but there was no way to interrupt him. In spite of his death, all mankind are afraid of it. By the two characters, the world was in darkness which lies in all mankind. They just pretend they are not. One’s behaviour is able to infulence the world into the darkness which would destroy the society. Since the society exists, it organize mankind and regulates not to be savages which could be in darkness without that.

Lord of the Flies #3

Although all children suffer evenly, Ralph must be the one who suffers the most psychologically.  He is a just young kid as well as others.  Possibly,  he could make mistakes or  make a wrong decision.  But since he is in the position of a leader, Ralph should be charged with all the important duties by himself. Unimaginable pressure and tremendous stresses would burden him at all times.  Moreover, the struggle against Jack  is literally a big part of his concern. When Jack proclaims people “we don’t need the conch anymore”, it illustrates Jack and others who do not follow him anymore. This bitter trial is also charged in Ralph which is too much torment for a little boy to undergo.  He recognizes that the rules he builds up begin to collapse slowly and everyone becomes on Jack’s side.  At that point, Ralph is exhausted and abandons a hope to be rescued from the island.  Due to being a leader, he ought to endure every concerns on his tod. Lonliness, stress and uncountable amount of trial give Ralph the most suffer psychologically.

Lord of the Files #2

The symptoms of mankind’s essential illness are defined as fear, ambition for power, and violence.  By the given environment in the story, it affects the emotion of people which is fear. Then, the violence comes out to control over the fear. The violence needs to be ceased for staying peaceful by a person who is able to handle this called, ‘leader’.  Ralph is a leader in the story who has to endure this. However, gradually over time, there’s a conflict between Jack and Ralph.  Once Jack gets power by hunting, he desires the position of a leader which already belongs to Ralph. If Jack accomplishes the urge, then he could get more power to rule this organization. However,  Ralph doesn’t yield his authority to Jack.  Furthermore, Piggy has no desire to be a leader, but he wants to be admired so that he could at least not become a laughing stock. These circumstances demonstrate the ambition for power that would break the community.

Lord of the Flies #1

As the progresses in the Lord of the Flies,  the gentle and educated boys from strict English school are losing their inner strictures from society.  Since they are isloated on the uncivilized island where none of society exists,  they have got to create the society by themselves.  According to the society they’ve learned from school, they should be respectful, polite and orderly. No one resists against the rules. However, disorganized society of this island is slowly starting to ruin the inner strictures of children.  This leads the boys to discard the society which forces them to follow in England and just do what they want to do. First, Jack painted their face to be looked like savages.  It shows he resists a formal-look and a behaviour of Britain. Moreover, Jack hunts the pig and shouts confidently ‘Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood’.  They  would rather be proud than feeling guilty. They are gradually altering from British society as they do more inhumanely behaviour .  In addition,  when Maurice kicks sand in a young boy’s face, he does not feel wrong anymore;  no one’s to punish him. Now, he is able to do these kind of things without any guilt.  The savageness is being more serious from time to time.  Since they are young and  have less  judgement based on what’s right or wrong, excessive freedom destroys their inner strictures.
